Laser Cutting Drawings
To proceed with your artwork for laser cutting, the best file format for vector files is DXF. Files drawn in Adobe Illustrator saved as AI, EPS, SVG, and PDF should have vector lines set to a stroke of 0.001, width profile as uniform and brush definition as basic. Files drawn in AutoCAD saved as, DWG or DXF should have vector lines set to a continuous linetype with a lineweight of 0. Coral Draw saved as CDR or exported as DXF, set as line thickness to hairline. If you don’t have these, Inkscape is a open source vector graphics editor that allows you to save as SVG.(Download for free here)
Laser Engraving Drawings
To engrave an image, it must be at least 300 DPI and preferably saved as JPEG though we can also work with TIFF, GIF, PNG and PSD files. The most effective images that translate into good quality engravings are images with a high contrast.
